World Teachers’ Day Student Art Contest

In commemoration of World Teachers’ Day, the Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) partnered with #TeachersCan to hold an art contest for high school art students in various regions across the state.

Students were challenged to create and submit an original art piece — either two- or three-dimensional — that honored a teacher or paid tribute to the teaching profession. Judges from each region evaluated the student artwork and selected three winners from each area to receive scholarships to be applied toward their higher education upon graduation from high school.

TAEA exists to promote visual arts education as an integral part of school curriculum through development of professional knowledge and skills and represents and advocates for Texas art educators.
