World Teachers’ Day – October 5, 2020
The theme for this year’s World Teachers’ Day, a global celebration held annually on October 5 since 1994, is “Teachers: Leading in crisis, reimagining the future.” This theme encapsulates both the extreme challenges teachers are facing in the COVID-19 era and how they are responding to the call and continuing to meet the needs of all students. #TeachersCan is joining the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and organizations all around the world to celebrate World Teachers’ Day. Both teachers and supporters of teachers can participate in the celebration of World Teachers’ Day. See below for all the ways to show your support.
Join the Texas Teacher Mosaic
Welcome to the Teacher Mosaic platform, where teachers are invited to upload a photo and join the images of thousands of other teachers making an impact across Texas, that will form the #TeachersCan logo. The mosaic will fill in on Facebook in real time, and teachers will be able to search for and find their photo in the mosaic, and share it to their Facebook page.

For Supporters of Teachers
Display a Light Blue Ribbon

Thank a Teacher
Everyone has had great teachers that influenced their life, but not everyone has told those teachers about their impact. This is your chance. Share a video or post on social media using the hashtag #TeachersCan and #ThankATeacher.
